Traditional Warm-up Final Talk Mr. Martin meets Mr. Collett's backfist Ms. Roberts as a true leader

Paragon Martial Arts
Black Belt Only Club
January, 2012

Pure taekwondo fun. 30 Black Belts from various schools in Paragon including some old black belts who need a refresher course in tying their belts. The workout was very traditional and had more laughing and jokes than kihaps. Ms. Roberts was lead student and could not quit smiling as she worked-out. Mr. Collett provided some very sensible self-defense and introduced Mr. Martin to “that sneaky backfist” that works every time (see picture.) 2001 World Champion and 2nd Degree Black Belt, Bill Twyford also worked-out and showed some of the young black belts that talent does not fade! Keep an eye out for the February workout dates and times.

Master Black’s Lakewood ATA’s 21st Birthday!

Congratulations to Master Corina Black and the students from Lakewood ATA for 21 years of great Taekwondo in Lakewood. Pictured are Master Black, Master Hauptman, Mr. Barnett and Mr. Yokum. Circa 1990.

Waiting for Class Let's Get to Work!

Ms. Grider welcomes the Fort Logan Elementary kids back to class with hard work, discipline and a few “welcome back” push-ups. This year Ms. Grider is joined by Ms. Krystle Willey. Adding another powerhouse instructor was necessary to facilitate the 90 kids that are expected to participate this year. She will also be assisted by Ms. Hannah Martin and Mr. Luke Grider from the Paragon Conifer school.

The program is part of the “Extended Learning Program,” a federal grant to bolster the academics of the schools involved. The martial arts program started with 21 kids that were supposed to rotate through, however, most wanted to continue. The school saw the value in the Paragon program and has made funding available for all 90 kids.

The desired result is to provide a program that directly effects the kids’ academics. Paragon Martial Arts is proud to have been chosen by the govt. and the staff at the school as a partner.
